Default Any Rednecks?

I know that not all fisherman are rednecks, so i thought I would just ask who out there is a backwoods hillbilly like me? Who likes muddin up their turcks on tires that are way past being too big? Who likes spending a whole day shootin guns for no other reason than the smell of gunpowder? Fine yourslef wearing camo on a daily basis???

Well, I wear a suit and tie by day but if you look close enough you will find diesel fuel, mud and occasionally fish scales in the cracks of my hands. I squeeze an F-250 in a parking garbage with 65" of clearance (The truck is 64.5" tall) while PHD's and government types look at me with disgust and amusement. If they made gunpowder cologne I would buy it. If a truck paint job came in "mudding" I would have purchased it. While my white collar co-workers call me a red neck, I bet you got me beat.

well i own a 4x4, bass boat, 3 rifles and 2 shotguns (for now, gonna add more when money allows),compound bow, countless knives, live in the backwoods, love football, fishing, hunting and camping. don't do the mud riding anymore, but got 4 wheelers at my beck and call. work for a living, outside that is, manuel labor. can't type worth a crap, lol. so yeah i am sorta a redneck. some think i am more of a redneck while others think i am a wanna redneck, lol. i believe that there is some redneck in everyone. jeff foxworthy said it too. just that most folks don't think they are when they really do have it in them. i like to refer to myself as a ridgerunner. we didn't have mountains per say as other folks, we had ridges we ran over as a kid. so i is a ridgerunner, hahaha.

I have the reputation of being a redneck, but I guess I'm pretty complicated. Its a fact that I have the most awesome truck in the lawschool parking lot, kayak hanging out the back, tools, beercans and spent shells strown around the bed, premium rustoleum paintjob...

I think the question of are you a redneck is based on your surroundings.
Growing up in the Shenandoah Valley of VA, my country boy roots run deep. However, I have lived in San Diego for almost 20 years now. If you ask anyone out here, I am probably the most redneck guy most of my friends and coworkers know. If I go home, they consider me a CA city guy who wears a suit to work.
I think I have evolved into a form of hybrid. I am the guy fishing at a lake who is wearing a straw stetson with shorts and flip flops.

My high school had a Drive Your Tractor to School Day...

Like some of you guys, I could go either way depending on who you're asking.

Sorry, BB, I had to

Never gonna happen in our boat......First off its a new boat so there are no old hooks hiding in the carpet....Secondly I only have two rods that I use, and the one i'm not using at the moment always has the lure hanging over the edge of the boat and not "in" the boat so theres nothing to step on.

Shoes are bad for us in more ways then I ever realized......20+ years of lower back and hip pain dissapeared within 2 weeks of going shoeless, so I'll never return to a shod lifestyle for that reason alone....Yes, there are times shoes are nessasary, but an unshod lifestyle is so much healthier.

Plus I live in rural Arkansas.....Enough said?

My arches are completely gone, according to the Orthopedic Doctor. Now he wants me to get custom orthotics made, I guess the days of going barefooted are gone for me. lol. When I lived in Texas, my tournament partner and I were known as "Team Barefoot"! lol I guess we can't be young forever. As far as redneck is concerned, born and raised in East Texas, but spent the better part of my years doing aerospace work, but I always had a boat and always kept my fishing up. I guess by all accounts that I am still a redneck.

Bottom line: If you can walk barefoot and it doesn't hurt, don't worry about it. (If it does hurt, however, do see a podiatrist.)
