When does keeping a fishing journal haunt instead of help?
RIGHT FLUKING NOW!
So I've really been struggling health wise. Wake up each morning with a drained body feeling. I then struggle to FORCE down my breakfast, no appetite. The rest of the mornings are filled with thinking how drained and unmotivated I feel. When I sit down at my computer to get the day's tasks completed, my mind just wanders. Can't keep my mind on the task at hand. My body just seems to be burning up while I'm still alive! When lunch time comes...again, no appetite! I sometimes feel like going back to bed and calling it a day. But don't. Come sunset, a DEEP depression seems to set in daily making routine tasks seem almost too much to handle. Afternoons are filled with client meetings but it is REALLY HARD for me to keep my mind focused. I almost feel like I'm not really there. So yesterday I decided I HAD to see a doctor and get my body working like it should. Woke up this morning for my 3:30 daily friendship meeting. Felt like CRAP! Felt like if I didn't see a Doc soon I was going to die. So to kill some time, I pulled out the old Fishing Journal. I actually at first started actually feeling a little better. Good memories seem to have a calming effect on my mind and body. So I get to last years entries...........I HAD BEEN ON THE WATER FISHING, SIXTEEN TIMES already by this time a year ago. This year ZERO! Well I attempted two outings but the weather really kind of dampered things. My health took an immediate 180 and the sickness RETURNED. LIGHT BULB! Cancelling my Doc appointment because I NOW KNOW THE PROBLEM! The most DREADED ILLNESS KNOWN to MANKIND.......... you guessed it......I got THE FEVER! Call it Spring, Cabin, Fishing.......the Fever HAS LANDED and has made itself very comfortable. DANG that stupid JOURNAL! Hey anglers, Have the very BEST Spring day you can and KEEP SMILING! I'm going too!

Sorry to hear that Joe, you know ANYTHING that consumes someone to that degree can be classified as an addiction. You may be in need of an intervention because I thought you had a project in progress that would have kept you busy and diversify your attention... But anyway, your focus needs some diversion to avoid being compulsively consumed, may I suggest needlepoint? P.S. - just avoid any themes associated with FISHING!!

I have a an acronym for it called LOF. I am sure it has many other names but this one hits dead center for me.
