i went to the pond for about 45 minutes erlier. i was fishing slimy weed mats in the mouth of a cove with a 1/8 ounce t-rig.i saw a 10'' ribbon snake slide across a mat and BOOM!!!!! a big bass had eaten that thing up,so i swithched to a weightless trick worm in watermelonseed.first cast to that same mat and she comes up and hits the bait really hard and my knot slips! i lose 5 more after that cause they would not take it all the way.i finally got an 8''er and then travel to the other side of the cove and fancast it,and cast almost parellell to the bank and twitch it ,gave it some slack and my line started to slolwy zip away. i tighten down a bit and she takes it in more and i set the hook and after a nice fight,i land a 2.5 lber which is fairly big for this pond. conditions were cloudy with showers.
