Default Bedding Bass

Bass on the nest will be hear in a few weeks, I try to throw a plastic past the bed and not hop or jig it, but rather crank slowly to ease the plastic into the bed, let it set in hopes they will pick it up to move it.
Anyone else have any techniques to share on bedding bass?
