Lake Mahopac Nybass Get Together May 4,2007

this friday was the nybass mahopac get together.what a great day with a bunch of members attending for a friendly day of fishing.the water temps were between 53 and 57 degrees in the lake.lake mahopac was once known as a great southern ny largemouth lake.then the homeowners association put in 3 times as many grass carp as a biologist said to and they ate every last remaining weed in sight.the smallmouth thrived but the largies suffered and are only now coming back.it did turn into one of the best smallmouth fisheries in ny state and was even written up in bassmaster magazine.
today the fishing was hard but everybody caught fish and had a great time.11 members stayed and had pizza and beer across the street from the marina.some members of outcast bass club had to make way to conneticut for a tourney on bantam lake the next day.here's a few from the day.
