Finally-Again-
I guess I'll never get tired of the excitement that seeing these sandy blond orbs stirs up in me. After decades on the water I saw something today that I'd only read about or seen on TV or the net. As I'm approaching the beds below I could see the male fanning and what looked like a small log out in front a foot or two. As I'm staring at the male the "log" swims up to the bed and I can see the male swim up to her and begin to nudge her, after a few seconds of that she begins to sort of roll over on her side and go into little convulsions. I didn't want to get any closer to see the "proof" but I'm certain that I was witnessing the actual moment of egg laying. Pretty cool stuff. FWIW 6 days ago there wasn't a bed in sight.....today the N. shore was covered up with them.
