Each time I venture out to the Titicus to launch my boat , there's an "old timer" sitting on a beat up five gallon plastic bucket quietly fishing along the bank. Seems most of his golden retirement years are just spent there passing time and doing the thing he loves to do and that's fishing. Now in all time I have seen him, at least two-three times a week, he has NEVER said a word to me. He'd just look in my general direction at my arrival at the water's edge and just kinda weakly nod acknowledging my presence.
Well as I was just putting in the last of my fishing tackle in the boat and almost ready to launch, another car drove up. One of the passengers got out of the car and I could see several "body piercing jewelry" protruding from several holes in his facial features. He approached the old timer, placed his hands on his hips asked him if he had caught anything. The old timer looked up and creased his forehead and studied his face for a moment. He stood up and turned his head from side to side and so innocently asked the guy: "What happened? Did your tackle box blow up in your face?" I laughed so hard I nearly fell out of the boat. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
