Need some input! =)

Say your looking at buying your first boat. You are willing to spend about 4 grand in the next month or so. What would you look for?

Been looking at Ebay, othersites, classifieds, gonna call the father-in-law and check at church(im not from this area, church folks have been here forever, im not trying to swindle them O.o )

The wife loves to be on a boat, fish or no fish she likes to be on the water.. Ill traid her up to be my personal navigator, she can work the troll and run me around while I pull in the bass.

Many of you might say, but Learnin... you just started, do you think your ready to drop 4000 on a boat? Hell yeah, and the fact that I did not just start fishing.. ive salt water fished for 20 years now, always had a boat in the family, but now I have my own family, and were boatless and thats a bad thing :P

So what would you keep an eye out for? I assume used.. which is great I think id rather have a older used boat thats been kept up nice than some crap new boat poorly contructed and poorly maintained
