I wandered into the new San Antonio BPS y'day, just to do some girl-watching
![]() Turns out they are selling the pre-2007 Extreme reels for 44.88, so I bought two in the 7:1 ratio (One's for Reb). The difference being that the new ones have 7 bearings instead of 5...big whoop there, you betcha ![]() I have no particular yen to own ANY BPS house brand reel, but I've been wanting to experiment with a 7:1 a bit, and this is a cheap way to see if I like it for ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZbaits, toads, burning Traps over grass, etc. If I like the ratio I'll rob a convenience store (preferably one owned by A-rabs, Pakis, Iraniacs, or Hugo Chavez) and purchase the mid-range (149.99) Revo in the same gearing, so long as it weighs LESS than 9 ounces. BTW...I fondled the new Daiwa STEEZ reels, both casting and spinning...WOW! Sooooo light and smooth...but close to 500 bux per, then add tax, title, and license. Would you believe a spinning reel that doesn't feel like a cannonball, weight-wise? Ennyweigh, if you are in striking distance of SA, call and ask if there are any "old" Extremes left. I consider them a "Fire and Forget" reel, for the most part, but the price makes them a sweet deal. FR |
