Water Temp 50 degrees. Water w/ very slight stain 2' visibility. Light South wind. Sunny.
Depth of water where the fish were holding: 7-14 feet and they were suspended about 20 feet away from the ledge at about 5-6 feet deep. The bass destroyed the jerkbaits today. Only had 2 hours of fishing time because of classes, and we fished from the bank, but we caught 11 largemouth bass, 2 smallmouth bass, 1 fat drum, and at least what is thought to be a 15lb smallmouth buffalo. 7 of the bass would've been big enough to weigh in at tournaments (bass > 15"). The 2 biggest largemouth were 5 1/2lbs and 6lbs. The largest smallmouth was 3 1/2lbs. Productive jerkbaits were Smithwick Suspending Rogues in blue/chrome, Rapala X-Raps in black/silver and also in goby color, and Rapala Suspending Husky Jerks in black/chrome. Sorry about the lack of pictures. I know that's what everyone wants, but as soon as we have our "big fish" disposable cameras filled up, then I'll add the pictures to the KY Lake or Lake Barkley posts. 'Til then, good luck out there! |
