Default Thinking of moving to NC?

Me & the soon-to-be Mrs Fish..(yes my last name is really "Fish")..are thinkin' of moving to the NC/SC area in the next year, we are in our late 20's and both have professional careers. She is a nurse and can basically get a job anywhere/anytime, I on the otherhand will be selling my business within the next year and am going to get into EMS/EMT work shortly. I don't know anything about these two states, just know that we want a change from the winters and fuel costs (heating oil is 4.00/gal). To put this in perspective; we have a 250 gallon tank and fill it about 4x a winter...it's roughly $4,000 before service charges..OUCH! Also sick of the sodium chloride rusting out our vehicles every 3 years, not to mention the headache of dealing with the SNOW! I would love to hear your feedback about these states and specific areas that I should check out...we don't need to be near the coast, but GOD love ya if you can get me close to some good Bass fishin'
