Those are not fees, that is extortion
So, the county announced the fees hikes for 2009 that will begin on 1 Feb.
We have no natural lakes here so we have to pay for daily use of the resevoirs. Most of them will not allow you to use a private boat so if you want to go there, renting from them is your only option. It will cost me $45 a day to rent a boat. BTW, these are just john boats with either a trolling motor or in some cases a 5HP gas motor. No electronics, live well, or any other feature I would want in a boat. It will cost me $8 to get a daily permit to fish. In the limited number of lakes where I can put in a boat, it will cost me $7 to launch. $5 for a float tube. The most popular lake costs $80 for the reservation and boat rental and $20 per person to fish. This is on top of the $62 I had to pay to get an in-state license. These cost increases are about 60% across the board. I know I choose to live here, and choose to fish but come on this is ridiculous..
