Default Transom Replacement

Got a question for anyone willing to answer.

Someone gave me a boat this weekend. This is what I got:

18' Larson cruiser
85 HP Johnson o/b
Foot control trolling motor (Bill Dance Edition)
All of this was on aluminum boat trailer.

The only problem with it is the top half of the transom is rotten, and I'm sure the bottom half isn't too far from it. Has anyone on here had any type of experience with the pourable transom stuff, or do I just need to look at rebuilding it with wood?

I have never replaced a transom before, and am researching all that I can about it.
