Went out on a local Westchester reservoir knowing we'd be fishing in the rain. In past years I would have chickened out but I was determined. It was a steady rain but no thunder and lightning.
My friend, Zak, hadn't been to this reservoir but I knew we had a decent shoreline to work not far from the boat launch. Proximity was important in case the rain got worse. We got out at 8am and fished until noon. The water temps were basically 46 degrees and the air temp was similar. Our main setups were jigs, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits and crankbaits. The only bite for 4 hours was the baby bass colored Husky Jerk. I had 2 largemouth in the 2lb range and Zak had 1 2lb lmb and 2 nice smallies with one being his new personal best at 3lbs 10oz. Zak's PB ![]() The rain wasn't noticed until we stopped fishing and headed to the cars. We were soaked but happy anglers.
Best to All, VinnyH
