Well I have made sure the gear is ready and set both alarms. I guess I am as ready as I can be for my tourney in the morning.
The water is crystal clear I can see the bottom around 15 foot deep. Prefishing was a disaster with 3 dinks in 5 hours. So conventional wisdom is now being thrown out the window. I have decided to go big and work the very heavy weeds and reeds. I plan to go frogs and buzzbaits early and then jigs, flipping tubes, and various creatures late. Today was sunny and 91, so frogs in the weeds maybe the plan until the noon weigh-in. Heck, I may even throw a couple of swimbaits near the suspected ambush points. Everyone I have talked to says finesse is the way to go, but those same folks are not catching much either. I usually feel pretty good about my plans going into my tourneys, but right now I feel that I am just rolling dice and hoping for a yatzee. Since I don't really have a clue at this point, I guess I will just stick to my confidence baits. I figure 3 decent fish could win this thing, so I might as well just fish for the three big ones, right? ![]()
