I went back to the golf course pond tonight to catch a few more bass. I caught 2 nice ones on a cotton candy lizard. Then I decided to try a crankbait. I caught 6 more and lost a good size one and few smaller ones.I learned a few things fishing cranks that are very different than when I fish weightless plastics on 2/0 to 4/0 EWG hooks.1. Don't set the hook to hard. Use a smooth side sweeping motion.2. Try to keep the fish from jumping.3. Loosen the drag.4. Work the fish to the bank. Don't try to muscle them straight to shore.Below is a picture of my first bass on a crank. Sorry it's fuzzy. I was having some issues with my camera. The second picture is one of the nice little guys that I caught on the lizard.
