The wind was 15-25mph most of today, and my partner suggested we try a lake about 30 miles south of us instead of our usual lakes where we know for a fact there's no place to seek shelter from the wind...lol. Even if the wind was bad we was gonna do a bit of sight seeing and check the place out.
So we loaded up and drove down to Gillham lake, and had us a look see.....It was a much bigger lake then the 300 acre ones we usually fish, but it was still a small enough lake your not gonna get lost on by any means. I really liked the look of the water and all the standing timber, so it wasn't long before we was hunting our first fishing spot, which was difficult for a couple of rookies on a new lake...lol. We didn't hit the water till about 2pm, and by the time we left, we'd only caught a couple of bass each, and Ron even caught a couple of bream and big'ol Saugeye on his spinnerbait, while I caught both of mine on a Viscious crankbait I'd picked up from Wallyworld the other day.....I'll be snaggin a couple more of those....lol....But the bass we caught were nice pretty and fat, so all in all we had a good evening....Heres a couple of braggin pics to end the day.....We had a great time and we'll be going back. ![]()
