Went to the same lake Monday that I went to Sunday only with a friend this time. It was windy and there was a boat already on the spot I wanted to start so we pulled into a protected cove. One of his first cast with a pointer he struck first with an averaged size largemouth for this lake. As for the hat, whats fishing if you can't act a little silly and have fun with it right?
![]() I couldn't get much with a jerkbait so I switched to an Excalibur XR50 and started to light them up. I caught a healthy smallmouth that really tried hard to swallow my bait, had really cool markings too. ![]() I was really tearing them up with the XR50 but when we came around the point the spot I wanted to start on was open so we ran over real quick. It's a deep drop so I picked up a slider head with one of Kennethdaysale's hand poured worms and caught the biggest fish of the day, a healthy 16" largemouth. ![]() A couple casts later with the same bait I caught another healthy bass, this time it was a smallie. ![]() We fished for 2 hours and caught 18 fish combined. Would have had more time but we had to get back in the woods to try and get another deer, I'm working on my 3rd one of the year right now ![]() |
