Just started my first real job in my career field and am making decent money for the first time and figured I'd treat myself to some new stuff. Something I havent been able to in a while.
I was planning on getting a few baitcasters this yr and cannot afford all nice ones. I didnt have enough for a nice one yet and wasnt even really planning on getting a reel but I went to Dicks and saw they had a Lew's Speed Spool the $99.99 one. I've heard great things about Lew's higher end reels so I looked on my phone at tackle warehouse and for the most part this reel has gotten nothing but great reviews, so I figured id give it a try. When I got off work this morning I headed down to the bay to try and catch some pike, mainly just to try the reel out. I got to the bay and it was crazy windy but I got a few casts in, and when I got home I casted and pinched it around. Although it kinda feels on the cheap side, no clicking star drag either it feels real nice for the most part. Its real smooth, and for the most part I like it. I never would have thought I would buy a non-Shimano reel! I played around with a Revo SX at Dicks and I think thats the next reel im getting, never really cared for them probably because I was in denial but boy are those pretty sharp! Do any of you know if I could put the Lews Tournament Speed Spool Pro handle on this reel? And maybe the star drag? I know it wouldnt be clicking. ![]() I went ahead and bought some plastics and some hooks as well. AND YES THOSE ARE KINKY BEAVERS! I was shocked that dicks had them. For some reason I cannot get the picture to flip. It shows it right side up in photobucket but for some reason it wont post that way, sorry ![]() I know most of you guys probably hate cats, I dont care for them either but my cat is the man! Hes a lazy ole fat cat, he was trying to get into everything when I was taking pics. ![]() |
