This was the biggest bass i had ever caught in my entire fishing experience, (which is about 4 months lol) So as you can imagine, i was very excited. I caught it out of the pond in my neighborhood which is very small, and only gets to be about 4 feet deep. Surprisingly, this pond has produced the biggest bass and crappie out of every other Huge lake my friends and I have ever fished. It was about 6:45 pm, and the sun was setting. I was throwing a KVD shallow driving square bill crank bait in about 2 ft of water. I was fishing with my buddy who was across the pond on the other side, and i yelled to him, "Hey stevie, did you know that i have never caught a bass on a crankbait before?"(which was true)....And he replied, "Its because you dont know how to fish it."......Then all of a sudden, I got a supposed snag, i started yanking on it and it didnt budge, then it darted out and that was when i realized it was a fish. Funny thing was the fish initially just sat on the bottom like a dead weight. I think he was sitting on his bed, and then just inhaled it lol. It was an amazing fight. Later on, I ended up breaking the bill off of the shallow diving crank bait when i tripped over a branch in flip flops, but i decided to still use it any way. About 5 minutes into fishing the crankbait with no bill, i caught a healthy, much smaller bass. The big bass ended up weighing in at 4 11", and the small one, well it didn't read on the scale lol. But over all, a great day resulted in great fish, and one jealous friend. Now i am more confident in the crank bait since I have caught fish on it.
