If y'all haven't heard, Brent Chapman won the elite series event today on Toledo Bend. On top of it, he was and obviously still is leading the angler of year race for the elite series. He has had 5th, 5th, and 4th place finish this year in the elites. On top of that he has already qualified for the classic through his win in the central open on Lewisville lake. He is also tied for the lead in the angler of the year race in the central opens. Not a bad beginning for a fishermen that many don't know too well. Thought I would point it out, major props (pun) to him for fishing so consistently.
How do y'all compare this to Chris Lane at te beginning of the year, where he won the southern open on the Harris chains, before the classic. Then he won the classic, and then finished 2nd on lake okochobee in the elites. He is also a solid 20th in the AOY race. (elites). So which is more impressive, I think they are pretty close because Chris won the classic. But Brent has been soooooo consistent. So I'll give a slight edge to Brent. But still awesome for some under respected fishermen. Chris has lived in the shadow of his brother Bobby, and Brent has really burst onto the scene.
