Update on DHL. My mom and dad went down this weekend. Said it was beautiful, they said they got in the water, and it was a tad chilly, but after a minute its fine. So if you arent getting lucky catching any fish... you could always relax for a while.
Also, I will know if I can make it tomorrow. In the case that I can make it I will be coming Thursday afternoon/Friday morning. If I can make it, I do have room in the house if need be. Bring a gun or two if you want to shoot, or we have a ****ty weather day. Its about 20 minutes from DHL, but in the boonies. Again, just wanted to let you guys up on the update. Ill inform ya'll tomorrow! |

I hope you can make it, IU, even if just to stop by and meet everybody over dinner or something. The more, the merrier.

I must say, I'm digging the weather forecast for this week....mid 70's to low 80's for the highs, and mid 40's to 50's for the lows. 10% chance of rain for a couple of days.
That'll work....

Good to hear from you, Doc. See you all tomorrow afternoon.
Ron, might be too late to say this, but be safe, and have a nice trip.

(Checking in)
The Dale Hollow Get-Together was a total SUCCESS. There was a whole lot fishing and catching going on!
With some fishing tips from the experts at the ONE STOP BAIT AND TACKLE SHOP, It didn't take us long to get a pattern going. What would you think if I said that the topwater bite was hot, specifically popping baits. HOT-HOT-HOT! I made it home safely, and need to get caught up with reality, but once I do I will post pics of some nice looking smallies! It's GOOD to be home. Please, everyone check in when you get the time, alright. -Mark Last edited by woody; 05-13-12 at 04:11 PM. |

This is going to be short, because I'm tired and going to bed....
I had a great time, and now I'm home. Bed time....

We made it home without any further mishaps. 13.5 hour drive - sucks. Sorry we bailed early, but I'll post a picture later of the busted trolling motor head. WTF do they (MinnKota and Motor Guide pay attention!) the heads from plastic. This is the second MK head I've had breakage in the plastic head - there MUST BE some material that is stronger. The posts inside the MK head are hollow and won't take much strain, why are they not solid? How much more or heavy could it make the t/m when you look at the entire picture? Anyway, I hate the freakin plastic and when spending over a grand on a motor I EXPECT BETTER.
So to those that I didn't get to see before we left, I appoligize for not saying goodbye and how much I enjoyed meeting the "new guys", ie: Woody, Ron & Adam. Great seeing the "old guys" too, that would be Bryce and his brother Matt and Daniel. But after having the trolling motor come apart at our first stop Saturday morning, was the last straw, and we decided to go home. This was a make or break trip for me - to decide whether or not to get rid of my boat. It's become a constant source of expense and the time has come to get rid of the problem. So, anyone looking for a boat, related boating items, rods, reels and related fishing tackle, watch the For Sale/Trade Forum. I will be down sizing consideralby. Keeping the kayak for now, so I'm not quitting fishing entirely, but I won't be needing half the tackle I now have, and will be listing stuff in the near future. It's hard to believe it's already over. Sory to hear about your boat troubles Bruce. It's hard to enjoy the fishing when your struggling to keep your boat going. But overall, it looks like a good time was had by all. Hope to meet up with you guys next year.

Well, have we reached a decision on who has won the Bait Monkey? I know it is between Woody and BassinBandit. We need to come up with a winner before I ship this thing out.
