3dkicker, I work for Dan Gerkin here and there. Dan,me and a couple of our buddies get together and make Buzzbaits,Spinnerbaits and Jigs. I have found his lures to be of high quality and they really catch fish.

flippin4it - Tell Dan I need to get in touch with him. I need some jigs. I found that his jigs skip very well on Anna and I need a couple. I would have loved to sell his stuff down at Richmond this year. What's up with his website?? It no longer loads correctly.
I couldn't make the Flea Market this year, was he there?? You fishing against Joe S. and Todd L.? |

War Eagle spinnerbaits are solid build and come in pretty nice colors and blade selections.

Holy Resurrected Thread... I have about 100 straight pieces of wire with a painted lead jighead and hook my dad hand tied rubber skirts on probably 20 years ago.. They are all White or Chartreuse and I will bend them into spinner baits or buzzbaits of different design as i need them. I have been taking some old ones that were already turned into buzzbaits (and melted teh skirts together in the boat) and removing thee skirts and making them into black buzzers...
I do on occasion buy strike king skirts, but other than that everythig is a Walker Special |

I have got to say I am stuck on War Eagle right now. I have beat and banged and caught several fish, and everyone of them still run true. I have yet to find one out of tune out of the pack either.

I try new brands of spinnerbaits every year, and I make a few as well because sometimes I want something just a little different.
But, I always go back to my Terminators. Believe it or not I have some that are approaching 8 years old, and while they are worn they still work flawlessly. |

Yes
I to have terminators dating back to when they first came out, have many styles or brands and types.
They all dont work everywhere but most will work somewhere. 40 miles away in the ohio river a small 1/4 double willow works nicely,in ky lake its useless, they tend to want compact but more weight and a single blade often in a colorado regardless of time of year or water temp. Indiana works as well as combos preferrably with replaced blades one size smaller. The same grass spinnerbait multi blade that works at wheeler and guntersville doesnt normally get a second look here even over milfoil,or coontail. Its just an odd place to patttern a spinnerbait with or pin a certain one down, lil mr money small wareagle, combo blades work, anything larger a smaller than normal colorado seems to do best even in 85 deg clear water.Their are many days they wont hit a spinnerbait yet will a chatterbait-here that is-figgure that one out. |

Strike Kings mostly. Booyah here and there. I'm not ashamed to say I toss a few Wally world 99 cent specials when I'm fishing a area that has lots of in and out of water cover and I'm afraid to give up a expensive bait. They really do catch fish. I sharpen the hooks a few swipes, adjust the bait to move correct, if needed. I also add a twin tail grub once in a while. Fish seem to hold on a little longer. But Strike King is my fav.
