They wasnt hittin to good last year........ Spring break came just before they started bedding.......... The bass hit real good though......... I have to say thats the best all around lake I have been to........

theres nothing funner in early may than to get bedding gills, the huge males get caught easy, pee on ya, lol, then the big females are there for the taking.
all ya have to do is throw out to about 3-5 feet of water, look for the rows of circles that are the beds, and drag anything over it, they will hit it... Ya never see big ones consistantly like that after the spawn is over, its back to small, midsize or the occasional jumbo The pond down the road I fish as well as the Lake Lakengren here in town both have this sized gills..check it out... |

We were using beetle spins and the basic cricket to catch those bluegill........... The bass that are on the stringer were caught on plastic worms, chug bugs, and flukes....... That was the last day we were there. The big males were getting the beds ready i think............

nothing like seein some one proud of their "huge" fish.......hahahah........and damn that is a bunch of fish, how many was fishin with you
I wish i knew what records where when i was a kid, the IL state record for blue gill comes from my county.....and the pond only i have access to....but i was a kid....and i ate them all....

It was just me and my dad fishing that day......... I think we found an early bed or where the bulls were getting the bed ready.......... My dad lost about a 2 or 3lb crappie that day along with losin about a 4 or 5 pound bass..........
