If i'm not fishing, i'm either working, at this machine, or hunting. I do practice pitching/flipping and reorganize my tackle bags regularly though.

i usually stick in the lip after the paint... that way nothing gets onto the lip and it just looks better imo. instead of puttint the tie on the lip i vary retreive by leghnth of lip and angle

I seem to enjoy talking about fishing with other folks when not fishing. I drink lots of coffee also and wish I was fishing

Mostly, I work so I can pay for a place to live and to eat and stuff like that. I have a family, so I have to occasionally do things other than fishing with them. My son would rather shoot hoops than go fishing, but he's a sport and comes along most of the time when I go. And I in turn shoot hoops with him when he wants.
I usually fish on the weekends, and on Wednesday nights. Wednesday nights is when I have a standing time to fish with my son and nephew at the little pond by my house. Last week my son got a "huge for Nebraska bass". I didn't have a tape measure, but it was probably close to 22 inches if not longer: ![]() |

Well the lure is finally painted. I picked the firetiger pattern because I've done so well with it. The paint job isn't the best, I'm new to the airbrush.

I took the crankbait out for a test spin. It worked as I had hoped. Although it is a tad bit heavy, it sank very slowly, almost suspended, but I can live with that. The next crank bait has been carved and will be ready for hook eyes and belly weight very soon. I made several long casts with it and I only had to tune it ever so slightly and even at high speeds it tracked nicely. Here is a little video we made just showing it being pulled slowly:
