I was on WEBTV and it was the golden years of the internet if you ask me.
Everyone I knew online was from NY, Pa. or NJ. and all my time was involved with a Nascar Chatroom. At any given time of day or night you could go in and talk to true friends. We often met for picnics and races all over the USA..plus not knowing what the internet was all about back in the mid 90's, a lot of fantasy "persona's existed".
My wife and me used to take turns on the biggest server back then TALKCITY, she had her own womens chat and I had nascar and also a Fishing chatroom, but they were in no way as savy about fishing as this forums gang are...
I think after years of chatting, the person to person Instant Message and ICQ were the rage, then voice chat rooms, and in the past 4-5 years posting forums are clearly the way people want to go...
I had to LOL at kevins 1997 site, after I viewed the SIGN MY GUESTBOOK
was a hyperlink listed, that plus homepages were the "in" thing back then.
Now after 10 years on the net, I still go to fishing sites, and my wife runs a womans and dog forum on MSN, but thank gawd for networking and many computers, we don't have to wait on each other for "our turn" on the internet....we were so hooked the first 6 months on that slow dial
up WEBTV, we'd stay up all night chatting with people.
I think after about 5 years on Talkcity, everyone knew or met each other or cybered with so many, the novelity wore off and most ended up hating each other lol.

I posted on here around that time. I was once one of those young teenagers, new to fishing, but I wasnt too obnoxious...then.
