Here is a report I got from Chris at Sturgeon Creek Marina at the Lake Anna Tournament Series for this past weekend. It took 15lbs to win the tournament with 5 chunky bass in the 2.5 to 4.5lb range. Second place was 14+lbs. The big fish weighed were 7.5, 7.4, and one around 7.2 - not a bad start for the year. Difference between the two big fish was less than 1 oz. or .03 lbs.

Anna Update
I got on the water today. Mid-lake temps ranged in the 46 to 50 degree range. I threw a bunch of baits: jerkbait, rattletrap, crankbait, spinnerbait, and jig. Got one hit on Deep Wee R and one on the jig that tore my trailer off. No fish. ![]() Federation tournamet weighed in at 4PM today. Took 3 bass for a total of 6lbs to win. Very low compared to last week. Second place team had 2 fish for 4.5lbs. Talked with one of the second place team members and he had a couple fish miss his jerkbait. Caught his fish in 44 degree water uplake. He had no bites in the mid-lake area and warmer water. ![]() ![]() |
