I must be doing something wrong. Last year I bought 4 colors of Horny Toads but have never got a bite on them. The Spro Bronzeye works good for me. Atleast I get a lot of bites with it but not a ton of catches.
I'll try the horny toads again this year and see if anything good happens. |

Under what conditions do you fish a frog? I assume you throw them on a Heavy rod with heavy line.. but what about weather? Time of day?
Froggin sounds like a LOT of fun.

really don't matter what conditions cloudy works best. it does suck in high winds. once the hydrilla gets near the surface i chunk da frog. time frame wise pitch dark till mid day..
the retrive can be all kinds of ways of ways. to be honest i never use the frog sub surface. zooker

Hey zook, thought you might like to hear this. I was bass fishing this weekend using a zoom buzzfrog and having no luck whatsover. I was about to run out of time and decided to try something different. I started casting the frog into the weedbeds that hadn't reaches the surface yet. Instead of swimming it back on the surface as I had always done before, I instead used it like a jerk bait, letting it sink just above the weeds and using short jerks to retrieve the lure. BAMMM, I got a hard strike, but missed the fish. Two casts later I landed a 3 pounder. I think I'll try that again my next time out.
