Stratos 176XT
Just wondering what you guys think of these boats. I saw one and it looked nice, and it's a cheap and an easy way to get on the water. It only has a 50 but for $1,500 more he could put on a 75. As a first time bass boat owner is that a good deal ($12,995)? A local dealer has a couple of these and is taking off freight and prep and throwing in a cover. Thanks for your help.

I looked at them when I bought mine last year and really thought they were good boats for inland lakes. I got a little bigger boat, but in all actuality the 176 is all that would really be needed most places I fish.

that would be a great first boat! my first boat was a 17' winner bass boat with a mariner 50hp. i love my big ranger with the optimax but sometimes i miss things about that little boat. i would say no matter what boat you choose, get one that has the maximum horse power motor that the boat is rated for. if that boat is rated for a 75 horse then the the 75 horse. it will be easier to sell when the time comes and will perform a lot better for you.

DEFINATELY go wit the big engine. Hell ifn you can go bigger do it. I know I sound like a speed freak and to an extent I am but when it comes to boats there is NO and I mean NO substitue for extra hp at certain times.
