Default KFC hell

Thursday night we had KFC for dinner,...I know, not the smartest move. The madness started about 3a.m...Anyway Friday morning the wife and kids were off to the emergency room with food poisoning.I being a man refused to go.They are all fine now but I still hurting a bit.KFC says there is nothing they can do to help with the hospital and prescrip bills as we cannot prove it was their food that did it.Right,it was the only food we all ate together that day. What a bunch of bums.I'll never eat that crap again.

Did you call the store or their national service number , a few years back I found a piece of chewed gum in the bottom of a cup of coffee from Dunkin donuts , they ended up sending me like $400 worth of gift cards because I threatened to sue , drank a heck of a lot of free coffee for a few months .

to make yourself fell a little better, report them to your local state health office. if nj is like here, they are the ones that do inspections. my wife is a nurse at ours and regularly gets reports from our guy about which places to avoid.

You can always take legal action. If yall got the food poisoning, others probably got it that night as well.

If you hire one of those TV Ambulance Chasers then they will put out an add on TV that says if you suffered food poisoning on such and such date at this location then call this number! Folks come out of the woodwork for those class action suits.
Seriously, another option is to call the "consumer hotline" of one of the local Television networks and report your case to them. They love stories like that and may take on your case. Watch how fast the restaurant does an about face when that happens!

They gave us our $$$ back for the food but they said we can't prove we got sick from their food so they aren't paying any hospital bills. The hospital notified the health department.Unfortunately there are no procedures in place as to what type of test they do at the time of treatment so they didn't take blood test or anything. The wife and oldest daughter are fine. The younger one and I are still kind of sick.We felt better for a while yesterday then everything turned to s*** if you know what I mean.I've e-mailed their website, now all I can do is make sure I spread this all over the internet about their lack of taking responsibility for our sickness.I'm not one of those sue happy guys,I just want my bills paid.I didn't ask for this.....Uh,maybe I did by going to KFC.

Maybe this is why you got sick. Too many kids bathing in the fast food sinks.

My wife recently had a run in with KFC.....sorry meal and worst service.....this wasn't the first time so she decided to complain.....management was very un-simpathetic to her complaint and just kept trying to offer her some free meals.....she tried to get them to understand she didn't want any free food....she just wanted the problem fixed...it wasn't....needless to say, we don't eat there anymore.

When I complain at a restaurant (which is extremely rare), I start out by saying that I DO NOT want anything free. I just want the problem fixed or I am making management aware of a situation. Most just throw free food and coupons at you and never address the real problem. Alabaster is having a real big problem right now with getting good help to run the new restaurants. Complaining gets you nothing right now except a free crappie meal. The only decent place (of the big chain places) is Logans. All the others suck and have forced me to save more of my money by dining in.

We seldom ever complain about anything, much less restraurant food or service.....My wife is a career waitress and very picky about what she views as "good business" when it comes to how meals should be served at a restaurant but 99 times out of a 100 she keeps her opinions to herself or shares them with me.....she has to be pretty upset or feed up in this case to actually break down and say something....she spoke with the person at the counter while management stood just 10ft away and said or did nothing....that really set her off, so when she got home she called KFC's 800 number and filed a formal complaint with the head office......she also told them she did not want to get a phone call from the store nor did she want any free food.....just fix the problem.

Next day guess who calls?.....lol.....the same manager that watched the intire ordeal unfold that day and did nothing....wanting to apologize and natually offering free meals....I believe the wifes answer was "apology accepted, now fix the problem, and keep yer damn free meals.....I still don't want them"....click!

You know....we live in a very rural and small town with only a handfull of fastfood joints and even fewer real sitdown restaurants where a waitress comes to your table, so you'd think that you'd be dealing with some good ol country folk behind the counter....but the truth is ALL the fastfood joints employ nothing but teens to run those places.....and no offense against bein a teen, but they know nothing about customer service and how they should wait on a customer.....so then the roll of training them and seeing that they adhear to good sound business practices and work ethics falls onto management, and unfortunately most of the managers aren't much older or wiser than the teens workin the counters, so service.....real customer service goes out the window.

How often do you walk up to a counter only to have the young person working behind the counter just up look at you.....maybe smile.....when all they gotta do is speak simple words.....something like...."May I help you please"

I just don't get it....ok thats my rant...and ya don't want to get me started on the fact that nobody can count your change back to you anymore.....if the register didn't tell them how much to give back they wouldn't have a clue what to do....lol.

I believe everyone should work as a server at a restaurant at some point in their lives. I worked my way through college as a server. The problem that I encountered was that most of the general public was rude regardless of how they were treated. That being sad, I still was respectful and gave good customer service. But you are correct about proper training. Most are not trained properly and thus give bad service and give most of the general public a bad experience. It is a vicious circle that gives a bad rap for those of us who are not rude as customers and/or know how to give good service as servers. The best place that I ever worked for as a server was country clubs.

having worked in the restaurant business does make one understand what its really like to be a "server".....also makes ya critique other servers alot more.....but it also makes ya a better and more knowledgeable tipper....and since most wait staff make somewhere around 65% of their income from tips.....well you do the math.....but lets just say I no longer just leave a $1 or $2 dollar tip like I did before I knew better.

Wanna hear something funny....my wife and daughter both tell me that the best tips are left by bikers.....the worst tips are left by the church crowd......go figure.

I found that to be the case as well. Talking with members of my church lunch group, many of them still did not know that most servers make a lower minimum wage (around $2.35/hr). Many of them thought that they were paid the normal minimum wage or better.

Here is another situation that doesn't make any sense. I have had people get upset and tell me that they were going to leave me more than 15% but since the autogratuity of groups of 8 or more was put on the check then I wasn't getting anything more than that. If you think someone gave good service and you were in a large group, just add to the autogratuity that is put on the check. Why penalize the server for a policy the restaurant has and you knew about it if you read the menu?

Yeah the automatic gratuity deal can be a double edged sword.....sometimes it keeps the server from gettin stiffed on a large crowd that leaves a $5 tip, and then other times it keeps the server from getting more than the standard 15%.

When I was handing out the bills, I always explained to the group that it was a computer thing and that I had no control over it once I enter the food orders and seat assignments. I alos made sure they were aware of the autogratuity. Some people think you are trying to slip it by them to get more tip. I never wanted my customers to think I was trying to swindle them. Most understood. The fools who want things for free for no reason got angry.

My motto when dining out - IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO TIP PROPOERLY, THEN YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO EAT AT A RESTAURANT THAT USES SERVERS.

Also, I have never understood the hostess/server wanting a tip when all they did was retrieve your To-Go order from the back. Tipping the hostess/server for getting your food is like tipping the person at the drive thru window.
