Someone used my rod locker deck for a cutting board and now the carpet has started to tear. started out as a small area but now starting to spread. any ideas out there as to how to fix this? Some of the carpet has actually left the scene of the crime so I'm gonna have to replace some of it. The boat is a Triton TR185.

It's the left front rod locker lid. Where it bends over to go under the lid.
But now has spread tso it can be seen on top of lid too. And rain seems to dissolve the glue 'cause you can lift it about an inch around the rip. |

How old is the boat? The glue will eventually deteriorate, as well as the rubber backing on the carpet will start dry rotting and coming off. Otherwise you may have spilled some gas on the exposed area and that will accelerate the deterioration of the glue. ![]()

The boat is a 2001 and the rip was in the front area of the boat.
Have noticed several other place also that are beginning to come apart. |
