Default What Would You Do Different?

If you could go back, to anytime you wanted, and do something different, what would it be?

I'd do a better job cherishing the time I was able to spend with my eighth grade classmates. I miss them.

That's cool, Joolz. Did you change school since last year? What exactly do you miss about it/them?

I'd go back and never take that first puff off of a cigarette and never take up drinking. The not drinking would of saved two marriages cause I'd of never said "I do" if I hadn't been drinking.

i really don't know if i would change anything. sure i have done some stupid stuff over the years, but all of them landed me in a life that i am very happy with. if i have to choose one, i wish i would have applied myself more in school instead of doing just enough to get by.

i agree i really don't know if i would change anything. sure i have done some stupid stuff over the years, but all of them landed me in a life that i am very happy with. However, I would choose to go back and and change baits and casts in the same spot that my fishing partener did at a state park lake when he caught the 8 pounder....catching a 8 pounder and having it move your john boat all over the lake is pretty fun...

just thought of it...The very first time on a boat and i was fishing, but i was not getting any advice on how to fish...I was just out there casting...We went somewhere real shallow and you could see the bottom and i was working a worm and i saw a bass, now i know it was probably around 2 or 3 pounds. I saw it swim up to my bait and eat and take off with it, i was so shocked that i didn't set the hook and the fish eventually just spit it out....that would of been my first one ever and probably would of hooked me then, but i had to wait 2 or 3 more years before i would actually get into fishing...so i would go back and set that hook...

Well if I would have studied more, I would have stayed on the football team instead of watching a possible scholarship go up in smoke. Never marry my 1st wife, never get a DUI, never punch a cop, this list could get long. Anyways to you youngins, stay in school, study hard. Trust me, the little things seem worth it until it messes up the big picture.

Of all the things I should've done different, I should've joined the armed forces right outta high school instead of the work force. I've always wondered how my life would've been different had I done that.

I would have posted more back in 06 so I could be a super veteran.....haha. No , actually I would have never touched tobacco products , I did both , smoked and chewed ( sometimes at the same time ). I quit over a year ago now , but Im afraid that those 16 years caused damage that will surface someday , and I couldnt blame anyone but myself...You young uns need to take note , its not cool and it will kill you.

I can't think of anything I would change. Heck even my divorce helped shape me into the husband and father I am today.
There were a few herb based college experiments I could have done without but even that shaped the person i am today.

I would have majored in something other than poli-sci, perhaps land surveying. Might stillt ry and go back and get a useful degree while the economy is in the toilet.

Upgraded! No charge.

10...9...8...7...Simmer down, now. Simmer down!

In truth, there are far more things I wish I could undo, even some that occurred in the course of combat, though deemed justified at the time.
If there were any "wishes" left after squaring accounts and righting wrongs then I'd skip from one fondly remembered era or moment to the other, not likely to return to the present often, save to check in on friends such as you chaps and the latest OU football score.

Don't worry Lancer6, doesnt make me mad. Although I have glaced at Troy, UAH and UNA rather than the barn - but its not the institution, its the degree. Also looking at Penn State and Texas A&M online if I could get accepted. Right now its tough, do I really wanto to double my student loans at this point? Some freinds of the family want to push me through law school, but I really dont want law school. I hear people getting out of law school are having trouble finding good positions.

there is not much would would want to change , some things during the parting phase of my life which i know will catch up with me later in life and i lost a friend to an overdose and one to a gun shot stemming from a drug deal gone bad , and treated my now wife who was a patient girlfriend at the time like crap because I was always strung out and I would have went to college and not picked up a smoke .
