Where to introduce ones self?
Guess I will do it here:
60 year old Crazy Bass fisherman. Been doing it for as long as I can remember which is getting shorter and shorter every year. I guided a couple years! I do auto restoration between fishing. I live on Tenmile Lakes on the southern Oregon Coast! I have a 1996 Stratos 295 Pro Boat with a Johnson 200 wich will do a tad over 70 with just me and 65 plus any day of the week full load and partner. Nice site! Oh, my name is Ray.

If it were not for us "Left Coasters", You boys would still be in the dark ages!! If my memory serves me right it was us that invented most of the new techniques everyone is using now!!! Guess I might as well jump in with both feet!! Go ahead, I can take it!!!!

Ray sounds like he will fit in good, auto detail and fishing. We recently had some thread on auto work on nontopic discussion. I'm doing a 69 Caddy right now.
Welcome aboard.

zooker<-- who lives in the crankbait capital of america says BULL!!!
i belive the carolina rig was named after what state again???...oh thats right south carolina...i know i hate it too but it does work.. spinnerbaits-oringinally the "cloth-pin" spinner- was designed in michigan by musky fisherman. -don't ya just love yankee inginuity?- lets see the land of fruits and nuts has put out some decent ideas like the frog, and heavy usage of the drippy shot.oh wait the japanese started dat..some silicone valley techno weenies thought up the gps for use in the militry.-it was a flash of brillance and he got lucky- and the jetdrive was invented there.. flippin and pitchin came from arky-in-slaw btw. and the lipless bait was invented buy an iowa corn shucker.-who lived in ohio- fyi the shakey head originally call the "ball head worm" -nick creme-first used to win the bassmaster classic by al linder...ha.. i have no back ground on when the "jig"... it's a curse i tell ya.. zooker

Flippin also had some roots in Louisiana. That type of fishing predates the reel truth be told. Before flyrods in england people over there caught trout using a long rod and pendulum style cast.
I believe the jig was invented by king hammurabi of mesopotamia in 1749 bc. Oh yeah, cant forget that the swimbait - historians have found drawings resembling broken back minnows in several obscure notebooks that belonged to Leonardo Da Vinci, and if you superimpose a picture of Madonna of the Rocks over the cover of bassmaster you get reflective holographic writing in greek detailing proper tactics for fishing dropshots in winter. Leonardo was a genius I tell ya.
