i don't have the sexy shad "kit" but i do have a ton of sexy shad crankbaits, so many that they have their own box and i am close to having to get another box. it is a great color in clear to stained water. be sure and change the hooks on the crankbaits though. every crankbait i buy gets mustad triple grips on it before it sees water.

Yea I generally switch out factory hooks on crankbaits, I think some of the companies tend to cut corners on there hooks, with the exception of Spro and a few others. Also do you run a red hook on the front?

no i really don't notice getting any more bites with the red hooks, nor have i noticed the fish being hooked any better with the red hooks (some guys claim the fish will hit the bait at a better angle with the red hooks). not saying don't do it, but for me it really isn't an issue.

I agree with carolina. But you do have to admit. They make some lures look real purty. But that does'nt mean more fish.

I like VMC sureset hooks. I don't know if anyone has used em on the DT series, but they seem to make a small difference in hookups. I haven't had one come unbuttoned from the VMC's yet.

I'm with C-rig. I didn't buy the "kit" but I have a couple of every strike king in sexy shad as well as the swim jig and spinnerbait. The color pattern worked for me last year.
