Default Transducer snapping sound

I just noticed my transducer started making a snapping sound. I am quite sure 1. it never used to do this , and 2. the fish have to hear it.

Transducers read the bottom via soundwaves. Every one I've heard is a constant tapping or clicking.

It has been suggested before that the sound of a transducer can in certain circumstances spook a fish. If I am 100% knowledgable about the bottom structure and dont need it I turn it off.

I actually did that too , I went out two weeks before a tournament and ran the graph to check bottom contours , During the tourny I turned it on 3 times to see if I was on my structure. thats when i noticed this noise.
