Would you done something different at Kentucky lake? I was thinking about that this morning while I watched the FLW. After thinking about it, I
would have thrown a fluke around all the flooded blush and trees. I remember most of the bigger fish Jb was hooking up with came close to structure and shade. Well I'm curious to hear your thoughts guys. cya Denny |

I think I would have explored more areas that were close to the waters edge in ppls yards, hard to get back to most because of the trees, but I think the bigger fish were in the shade way back there

JB we tried peoples yards but just a few dinks and we went back in the wooded area a little ways, same thing. But Denny's got me thinking maybe a fluke might have worked in those areas. IDK

actually i got all of my bigger fish in one creek...the key for me was looking at the bank as it came into the lake..the steeper the bank as it came into the water the better fishing was... 90% of my fish came from 8-12 feet of water..
i dout i would have done anything differant..i had paired down my rods to just three.. zooker

I would have brought a partner! Trying to figure out what they're hitting on takes too long when you're by yourself. Plus, I really decided that day to get some more rods. Having to cut off and re-tie a bunch while working the troller in that wind was really a pain. Next time, I'm bringing an entire arsenal, all ready to go.

Denny, we spent a good part of our time back in some coves, trying to get out of the wind. All we found was a few dinks, nothing really to brag about. We got back as far in the flooded timber as we could, with not much to show for it.

I tried a fluke back there in the trees. Only landed a couple dinks, the spinnerbait produced more numbers.
I suppose I would have arrived earlier. Maybe spent a little more time flipping way back in there. Where it was shallow. The 4 I caught came in around 2-3 feet of water, it would have been dry ground. Zook is right there were some fish on the steep banks but I lost my transducer right when I got there so I was kinda guessing. My main problem was I never had a real good night of sleep.

Bassin, you can come fish in my boat next year if you want. We can bewilder the fish with slide-rules long enough to scoop em up with a net!

i wouldn't have put all my eggs in one basket. early friday morning i found the spot where louann caught her big one. it held a lot of good keepers but i wish i would have ran around finding a lot more spots like it. i did find a couple more that had some fish on them but i think that if i would have covered enough ledges i would have found the land of the giants, who knows maybe it was just around the corner from the land of solid keepers where louann struck gold. on saturday i found a great spot where i caught a fish a little over 3lbs, lost another one about the same size that i saw, and also lost a monster that i didn't get to see but i know that it was a giant and i am glad i didn't get to see it. i wish i would have found that spot earlier and fished it for all it was worth. there are all kinds of coulda shoulda's for me but i really am pleased with how i fished overall. in 4 hours on thursday night i eleminated a lot of water and on friday morning i figured out a very good pattern that if i could have fished all day without pregnancy induced pee breaks, lunch, visiting, and things of that nature i really think i could have had very solid limits each day. i am not complaining about all of the festivities, as a matter of fact i would give up more fishing in trade for more social time in a heart beat, but that is what i would do if i had been there for a tourney.

This is a great thread. It's got me to thinking and that's not always a good thing.

![]() I'm just about the world's worst when it comes to "shoulda, woulda, coulda" thinking. All's I can say is, I caught a few fish, I met some great people, and had a wonderful time. If I start thinking too much about what I/we did or didn't do, I'll go crazy.

The time we got most if not all was when we were in the wind. When the wind died so did the bite. Denny
