Shallow - easiest decision for me. Bandit 100 series... color, a bit hard but I'd have to say either Bluegill, Rootbeer Chartreuse, or Tennessee Shad.
I hardly ever fish with medium and deep cranks... But I probably use a Bomber Fat Free Fingerling (BD5) in Pearl White or Foxy Shad. I really haven't fished many deep divers at all, but the new SK 6XD in Sexy Ghost Minnow looks cool. BB

Medium: bomber fat free fingerling. Don't know what my one color would be. Deep: strike king, sexy shad.

shallow SK crome sexy shad
medium Koeppers Live Targets Bluegill or Pumpkinseed, although the H20 express baits are winning me over. Deep is a toss up of Norman DD22 and SK 6XD not sure what color I would choose. |

Shallow - Bagley Fatcat. They don't make them anymore which is too bad. Lucky for me I own about 60 in various colors. If I had to choose a color on this bait, it'd be Pearl.
Medium - Storm ORIGINAL Wiggle Wart. Color - Green Craw Deep - Bandit 300 in Blue Spatterback. Extra Deep - Mann's 20+ in Ol' Homer. |

Shallow-Bandit 100 in some shad variation.
Medium-A Rapala DT series, shad or bluegill color. Deep-Norman Deep Little N, DD-22, Strike King Series 5 or DT 16 in shad or crawfish color. I also like Bandit 200 and 300 for medium and deeper crankbaits.

Hey Reb, have you been using my crankbaits when I'm not around? My answers exactly except I'd opt for the bluegill pattern in the Bandit 100 as there are no shad in my area lakes.

Hard question to answer. I don't have a ton of cranks, though I love them. Of the ones I do have:
Shallow: Rebel Teeny Crawfish in Stream Craw Medium: Diawa Peanut II in Red Craw Deep: Rapala Shad Rap Original Finish

Just my opinion, and judging from some of the other answers and what I've read before on here, Bandit makes one of the best and most overlooked cranks on the market. They have great action and great colors and you can't beat them for the price.
Shallow: Bandit 100, Bluegill or Tenn. Shad Medium: Lucky Craft SKT Mini, Tenn. Shad or American Shad Deep: DD-22 or the new Strike King 6XD, Anything with chartreuse

with this type forum having everyone on the same page in loo of termolgy is important to help us help you, when your asking a question.. a peanut only digs to about 4 feet. which by all accounts is consitered a shallow runner.. think of it this way, "shallow" are baits that run from 1 foot to 5 feet. any bait that runs less than 1 foot is called "subsurface". a bait that runs from 5-10 feet are the medium diving cranks.-shad rap being one of them- a deep diver is a bait that will dig over 10 feet down. really deep diver is a bait that digs to 20+ feet,questions??.... good... that being said. nothing is EVER wrote in stone when it comes to bass fishing.if you have been an angler long you know just how much truth is in this statement.. certainly you can work a 20+ footer thru a 5 foot deep flat.-i have done this and caught alot of fish doing so- though i RARELY use subsurface baits.i have caught fish working medium divers over deep water-75+feet- fishing for suspended fish.. zooker

My history in bass fishing is mostly with jerkbaits, and small shallow cranks. I have had a few deep runners, but my main lures until recently were original rapala minnows, and similar lures from other companies. I have really just begun to expand my horizons with other lures. Call me a late bloomer... If my Peanut is shallow then I will have to take my Bandit series 200 in natural goby. Killer lure. Rodnreel had it right. bandit is pretty underrated.
