I went night fishing with my buddy tonight, and I'm about 95% positive he hooked a Musky from our local pit. The DNR says they are in there, but I have never seen or heard of anyone catching one.
This thing was humongous (in comparison to our bass only hehe). It was dark, so I shall never be completely sure, but it just about wrecked his Lucky 13. Deep gouges on it from the teeth, and slime on his line. It jumped, and I saw a very thick fish in the darkness. It was no bass, and I've never had a catfish gouge a lure up like that. This thing was 36" easy. I know that's no lunker compared to Muskies elsewhere, but just to think in a few years, I might have the possibilty of catching a trophy Musky 5 minutes from my house is tantalizing! It's funny because he really had no interest when I would talk about Musky, but now he does. ![]()

Yep, those tooth critters do a number on a hardbait. I caught a good northern in a weedy bay in Erie last year and it was a ball! I hope you get to catch one of those toothy fish one day.

Could have been a good size northern as well.....they'll tear up lures just as bad as a musky....

Tell ya what. If you'd like to get into some quality musky fishing, head a little further north to Lake Webster in Kosciusko County near the Tri-County FWA. That lake offers great fishing for many species and has become one of the premier musky waters in the country. Musky anglers from all over the country are trying their hand there. And there is excellent bass fishing there too!

![]() I have a feeling you'll be going back there again to target some musky. Make sure you take a couple big bucktails with ya, those are killer musky baits. BB

I've heard Indiana has some great musky lakes. I've only ever caught 3 of them, all of them from lakes in Missouri. They are a blast to catch. I caught my heaviest ever this year from Pomme De Terre on a bucktail, it was just over 10lbs. Not a monster by any means but one of the highlights of my fishing year.
