Default The boy is learning

Lake has picked up a few new words lately. For a while now he would moo if he seen a cow or if you would ask him what a cow says. He also would neigh like a horse when asked what a horse says. When you asked him what a monkey says he itches his armpits like a monkey and makes monkey sounds. He has been able to say who dat (no we are not saints fans, this is how he is asking who someone is) for a while now too. All of this is on top of him saying dadda, momma, nanna, pappa, and Emi (my neice). But this holiday season he has really stepped it up. He now says Santa anytime he sees the fat man somewhere, and if asked what Santa says he says Ho Ho Ho. And best of all he has learned to say boat (took me a while but I finally got him to say it lol). It's amazing how fast they catch on to stuff.

Ok my proud daddy moment is over you can carry on with whatever you were doing before reading this I just had to brag on my little guy for a bit lol.

Sounds like he's taking after his old man, hahaha. JK Thats a great feeling when they start putting words to thought. I remember when I was carrying Matt in my arms into the grociery store and he pointed to a woman walking our dirrection just a few feet away and who was particulary busty. Matt pointed his finger dirrectly at her and said loud and excitedly, "Look Dad, Nipples!!!". I just about died of embarrrassment but she got a good laugh out of it thankfully. Kory, it will be fun to listen to him Christmas morning! Thanks for keeping us updated on how Lake is doing.

Yeah animal sounds rock lol. He will snort like a pig too when you ask him what a pig says but for some reason when you ask him what a puppy says he also snorts like a pig oh well Rome wasn't built in a day I guess.

Enjoy it, as it is a fun cycle. You spend forever wanting them to talk, then you wish they would be quiet. In another 13 years, you will wish he would talk again.
Don't forget that he won't only pick up on the "good" words.

I am very happy for you.

Hey Kory, when she is the right age, you should buy her one of those childrens casset tape recorders to talk and sing into and listen back. We got that for our first when he was about 3 years old. We still have those tapes to listen to and love them.

By the time he's 16, he'll pretty much know everything and you will know nothing. Then somewhere in his 20's he'll be amazed at how much you learned in a few short years.
