New Gear for Spring 2011/Question
Hi Everyone,
So last year I decided to take the time and really learn to fish jigs and had some pretty good success. For 2011 my new technique will be throwing swimbaits, small soft swimbaits in the 3-5 inch range on either a lightly weight hook, or not weighted (example the strike king shadalicious, not the big monster swimbaits). I've got my rod type brand/type picked out and the reel picked out, but I am not sure on the length or weight action for the rod. The brand/rod I have selected is the abu garcia veritas matched with a revo SX, i think this will be a sweet set up but want to make sure i get the right action rod for the lure. Thanks for all your help!!!!

I haven't fished with this line of rods but from the specs I would go with the 7'3" MH for small hollow bodies.

Yep. If it has a single hook go with a MH action rod. For a swimbait a 7 footer should be just about right.

Anything from 7' to 7'4 MH would be fine. You can use that rod for other applications as well like pitching a jig
