After putting it on the trailer Saturday, the trim on my Yamaha 115 all of a sudden quit going up. Is there somewhere I should start the diagnosing process? Hopefully this isn't a trim motor issue.....
BTW, I know it's not switch related, I got the same result from all 3 switch locations. |

Bad Trim relay. Take yoru cover off and you will see two relays next to eachother. When it is real quiet, hit teh trim switch and see if you hear a click coming from teh relay. If not, it is probably done. To be sure, switch teh relays... Your motor will now tilt up insted of down. This is a very cheap and simple fix.. you are lucky.

+1 relays or solenoids (depending on motor age)

Motor is a 2000 model if that helps.
Good to hear you guys saying what I've already thought may be the problem. Thanks for the fast replies. |
