I have to admit when it comes to reel maintenance i try but i don't think i am doing a very good job.
I oil my reels at least once or twice each season. But when it comes to grease etc. i am totally lost. I have tried once to take a reel apart and service it and failed badly. I have 2 Revo S reels that both are making a singing type noise. I feel sure it is a bearing going bad. My question is this. I know i need to get bearings but are all the bearings in these reels the same size or do i need to pinpoint the bad bearing to replace? I have some tournament friends who do a Saturday reel servicing party in December. They have told me to just bring all my reels and we will go through them too. I would like to have any parts i need by that time. Plus this will be a great way to help me learn how to take care of my equipment. Any help greatly appreciated. |
