Went to see The Monuments Men today. Very good movie. Unbelieveable how much art the nazis stole. The Russians also.
It's been a long time since I've been to the movies. I think I last went to see the Lord Of The Rings I II and III. My goodness it was 14.50 for 1 large drink and 1 large popcorn. I saw a dad spend almost $50 on his 3 kids. Glad I am on a diet and didn't buy anything. Glad i use netflix and redbox.

Wasnt just art also technology, even we had a unit that its sole purpose was to steal secret weapons scientists etc most of which became classified, some resurfaced 50 years later like a stealth fighter, its secret skin and shape almost one could say copied.
Should pay the Horten bros a royalty. It wasnt copied prior as hard to fly,duh compterized its a real weapon. Also laughed at and forgotten about as a flying wing idea was back then-exception the hortens and nazi germany. Are you aware its illegal for you to take your own drink and popcorn. It is however no wonder some do sneak some in. |

Reading the book now. I usually like doing that to better understand what the movie is about. Sometimes that's a disappointment when the movie isn't true to the story, other times it fills in the blanks as not everything makes it to film.

Last year (or maybe it was the year before last) a local drive-in theater was under new management and announced that they would no longer allow refreshments to be brought into the drive-in. Since we'd picked up Subs on the way and had a cooler full of drinks in the back, I just laughed. Making rules that can't be enforced is pretty silly.
I don't think it's 'illegal' to 'smuggle' refreshments into a theater. I suppose they could throw you out but I've never heard of anyone being arrested for it. I think it would be interesting to argue the price gouging of the theater concession in court. After all, the cost of the movie ticket is high enough that we shouldn't have to pay up to 4 times fair market value for refreshments. Then again, go to any amusement park. There's more money in parking and food/beverage than at the gate. Quote:
