I read about a ABA Tournament angler who weighed in 26 plus pounds of brown fish at Old Hickory.

I also heard that he caught all of his fish with an Umbrella Rig. And also heard that he caught a 6.5 lber and 5.5 lber during the same cast.

Umbrella rig is in the article, and this time of year 59f they stack up in certain areas. He just happened on a spot where congregated. Most likly found during scouting, prefishing with sf sonar.
Smallmouth place their nose on the bank at 59,and start spawn prior to largemouth. Later on its a finicky lake, and in the fall when aft will be there for the nationals fall turnover to boot.10-12 lbs for three days running will win it. This year instead of having a drawboat for all to have a chance at since boaters win a boat, top nonboater will win a 19ft boat with a 150. |
