Recently I have heard rumors of Catfish in Oregon... I am more a bass person myself and was wondering if these rumors are true and if so where are they and what should I use for bait?

Depends on the type of catfish.
Up here, we get hornpout that are about 1-2 lbs. Down south, they get above 50 lbs. |

Salmon fishing is badass now... not as good as last year but you can still haul some 30 pound hogs out now n then. Mostly stealhead right now but fall runs coming up soon so I might keep some space on my tag for that run. Most steelies are running 8-12 pounds and salmon are in the 15+ typically. Last year was mad... 1st fish on my tag was a 36 incher. This year I average 3 fish every 2 trips so it is still pretty hot right now. BTW thanks for the tip

Not bad, hey you ever seen the "humpys from hell" T-shirts? I got one in Alaska when I was fishing in a coho run for 6 hours and caught about half a million humpys and no coho. heh but what cha gonna do, I did get a 4 pound dolly varden though so I wasn't too sore.

I would try shad, shrimp, or some cut-bait.

I would try some chicken livers or night crawlers.
