The Monkey Reel that died

Guys I don't know what happened to my baitcaster. I was out fishing and it just started hollering like a monkey and crap. I don't know what happened to it because I caught like 15 on it and fished all day with it and then after hollering the reel locked up or something and I can push the button but the line doesn't come out and when I start to crank the button goes back up.Line will not come out however. I think Zooker had something like this a while ago. What do you guys think the problem is?

Sounds like a paw or worm gear went bad.

I'm with PnJ-if you have only had it that long I'd take it back. BPS is pretty good about taking care of the customers that buy their brands.

take the side cover off check to see if there is some kind of lube in it. i am betting that a squealing bearing did not cause the no cast defect..more than likly some thing broke..

For once I am with Zooker

Do that and also check for debre like Sand.. a little squealing won't hurt a thing if it performs allright, its just annoying

Come on children, a dry bearing will not make the reels engage/disengage button appear to be broken. Use that head of yours for something other than a mobile hat rack. Take the reel back and get a new one if they will allow you to do so.P N J
