Default Zooker you th' man

Yep,You the man. I caught more bass today on a crankbait.Might have to change my username to cranky jerk or something. I bought a few of the Bass pro shop Bassmaster series crankbaits on sale this morning for $1.99 each. This afternoon I took them to the water to test them.I caught 4 bass cranking laydowns in the creek.Zooker, You are obsolutely on the money with your lure knocker thing.I improvised using a 1 oz. jig with a duosnap on the line eye , snapped it on the line and let it drop and the hooks popped free once the weight hit the crankbait.I didn't have any other line attached, but it was enough to pop the hook free from the treelimb.Might not have if I pulled harder trying to bring the bait through the limbs really sinking the hook points deeper. I might have to come up with additional line to knock the lure if that happens.Maybe bend the hook in a spiraled circle so it will stay on the line as it travels down it and tie off on the eye to attach the knocking line to ?Any way thanks. At first, I got the cranks hung better than a dozen times while cranking the tree and your trick allowed me to retrieve the crankbait trouble free without disturbing the fish.I started catching the fish after I learned to bring the crankbait through the tree tops using the lure rise and the rod tip instead of trying to crank it through with the reel.A tree fell on the water 40 feet from me when I was fishing a laydown. It seems a beaver is busy getting new material to work with. The trees were chewed mostly through at the base, they must just fall on their own in time afterwards ?P N J
