Weekly Lake Fork Report From Guide Jim Reaneau
Well, the weather with all the northers and the temp is in the 100’s. NOW!!! That is one for the books. The heat is on here in Texas and this is the start of a very bad thing. If the 100’s are here now what is going to be the temp in July??
The fishing has still been up and down. If trolling is your thing there are some big fish to be caught dragging a big crank bait up and down the points and road beds. The mornings have been started with top water and Carolina rigs. Look for grass and fish the top water very slowly. Barely move the baits and let all the rings leave before moving the bait again on the very calm days. The Texas rig is another good starter. The ten inch warm has been the bait to put on the hook. The lipless crank bait has been a good choice to keep tied on for the schooling fish. For the Skeeter tournament people this weekend I would recommend to find and area you have confidence and stay there. Work the are good. Remember that moving is only giving your spot. Listen to the radio and bring in your fish. There were two hours in the Legend tournament no one weighted a fish. Don’t let this happen in this tournament. Someone missed out on a big check. Keep on your life jacket and kill switch and watch out for the other guy running down the lake. Put on you sun screen before you get out of the house and have a great fishing trip. I have some June dates open if you are thinking about a trip to Fork give me a call. Jim Reaneau 1-888-918-5088 Jim Reaneau |
