Tom,
Too bad we couldn't get out and fish. I weighed two fish Friday night with my best just over 3lbs. Caught both in the first 20 minutes and thought I was on them. Then things shut down on me and I busted one off (That hurt). Big fish for the night was just over 5.5. I'm glad you liked what you saw and hope you come down again soon. David |

Here's my big idea for Lake Anna, pull the freaking plug on the damn, and it would make a great golf course!!! I hate that lake and I live 15 minutes from it. Not that I don't catch fish there I do, I just hate it for some reason!!!! I'd rather drive 3 hours to fish Buggs, or Gaston then drive 15 minutes to fish Anna. Now in the winter time on the warm side is a different story!! LOL

Yeah Anna is tough but it has been great last year and this spring. It's difficult when you catch 8-10 bass in the slot and you can't weigh them. Starting this weekend the 12-15" slot is being removed. The key will be to be able to find the good fish! Once you can do this then any lake in the state or country will be easy.

Oh it's not that it's a tough lake, I can put keeper fish in the boat, I just don't like the place!!! It's about as boring a lake I have ever fished!!

Lack of grass and laydowns got you down? Yes there is limited cover to fish. I guess dragging a c-rig around drop offs and points on the lake can get boring.

Tom,
Buggs can be a fun lake. When it is at 302'-305' it is a lot of fun to fish the buck brush and the willow bushes. Some people catch fish off of the willows but I don't. I prefer the buck brush and gum trees. I've had some good days on Buggs. Never caught any real big fish but a lot of 2lb fish. ![]() |

The problem I have with Lake Anna is the tide.. I just keep waiting for the tide to move and it never does...
That may be a personal issue and not the lakes issue. OH WELL.. Capt Mike

Capt.
Fish Gaston and you'll get some water movement. Speaking of tide, have you been on Dragon Run yet this year???? |
