fishing the cool water.

this morning i had a plan to fish way points i have marked #17,#37,and# 93. these way points show the excat location of some of the coldest water flowing into the lake. they are under water springs and artision wells.. normal lake temps at daylight were 85.3 but the temp at #17 the water temp was 69.4 degrees this spot is in 4 feet of water. first thing i used was a trick worm hung 2 lost 5 -short biting it-i switched to a 1/4 strike king jig in my currant favorite color of "sticky bud" with a green pumkin ultra vibe trailer. loaded the pnj with some fish formula galic. popped it in the spot bounced it once hooked up a 2.5 pounder. i went on to pull 9 fish out of a spot no bigger than a pick up truck bed.i had to replace the trailer cause it lost the kicker legs. moved to #37 8 feet down was a artiesion well big flow amounts. the rock pile round the well is about the size of the boat..took 4 bass off this cool spot.inculding my big for the day 3.5-4 pounds and the dink of the day a 8" pee dabber. ran to #93 this is in fairly deep water 17 feet down has a small amount of flow good for at least 1 decent fish. caught a war mouth -blasted things- a short striper. and 2 bass nothing huge all in all i had 9 keeper sized fish.. i think i am figuring these blasted pnj's out..

i know the question is how did i find these spots? well seeing i plum REFUSE to say which lake they are in. i will tell ya it has to do with trout fishing, that is right trout fishing. when trolling for trout almost every fisherman uses down riggers. on these down riggers is a 6-12 pound steel/lead weight that pulls your lure down to fish. attached to these weights are a tempature probe. i found these cold spots while trolling for striper in years past. lets just say i found plenty of striper and lm on these spots.. the trick was i spent the time to find out excatly where these cold spots are for use in the hot water temps like today..
there are those that say they kno a lake then there is those that REALLY know the lake.. oh yeah it was NOT badin
